Front Frame Analysis – Cost Reduction

Project Scope

  • Perform detailed G-load and rim-pull load analysis under various operational conditions:

  • Drum movement with tires grounded (forward & reverse) Tire movement with drum grounded (forward & reverse)

  • Front bumper grounded with drum/tire motion

  • Rear bumper grounded with drum/tire motion

  • Evaluate steering force impacts

ARi’s Solutions

  • Developed simulation models for all relevant assemblies and parts

  • Applied fixed constraints to drum support plates, axle mounts, bumpers, and rear frame

  • Simulated force and moment load across 7 defined load cases

  • Delivered validated FEA results to client, enabling design refinement (Total Hours: 300)

ARi’s Value Proposition

  • Ensured front frame life and structural integrity under critical load conditions

  • Reduced bumper thickness from 10 mm to 8 mm, achieving direct cost savings

  • Enabled confident design decisions based on accurate simulation data

  • Contributed to overall product weight and material optimization
